This piece of ancient Internet lore/wisdom seems to have been lost among newer generations, so please review this handy guide:

• People who post intentionally upsetting remarks online are trolls.
• Trolls are not interested in intelligent debate. They are not looking to have their eyes opened or their minds changed. They are attempting to piss you off because they think it's fun.
• Trolls live on attention.
• DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS by giving them attention.
• If you ignore the trolls, they will fade away and look for new targets.

In summary: ignore the trolls and they will go away.
